Last Tuesday, April 9, our family medicine doctor Irena Mehandjiska Shumanska together with our marketing team took part in the ''Morning Cuppa'' , the British Club Beijing subsidiary’s, gathering . ''Morning Cuppa'' is serves as a meeting platform for both veteran members of the British club, as well as newcomers to the city.

The topic covered was ''Menopause and Andropause: what to expect and how to deal with the changes'' .

Everyone was very interested in the topic and many thoughts and ideas were shared during the conversation. Dr.Irena shared information about the latest available medical treatments , as well as the and lifestyle changes that can be made in preparation for menopause and andropause, and how to pass this period easier.

All the participants agreed that there is still a lot the stigma surrounding the subject and there is much work to be done to better understand the changes that happen during this stage of life, and to raise awareness regarding what people go through.

It was a united consensus that the biggest help would come from open communication between couples and families, better support and understanding for one another, while recognizing menopause and andropause being a very natural part of our lives.

It is a well known fact that we, as human beings, can live much happier and longer lives if we keep our social contacts and human connections. Let’s make friends and be friends, and learn to understand and support each other better as we go though the different stages in our lives.
